I HEART FACES

This is one of my favorite shots from my summer with my sweet B.... watching her grow and learn and see her wonderment of it all.... this shot gave me a perfect sunset flare without overwhelming her wonderment in her airplane swing... taking in the sky and tree branches; letting go and being the carefree child that she should always get to be no matter what is going on in this world.

I chose this photo for the {I Heart Faces} challenge b/c it was on the first I did where I felt truly amazed at the sun flare and perfect light I caught from a sunset. I had been practicing for several months, and finally got this...:)

I want to start by saying that I was so afraid the first few days after I posted this contest that there would be no one enter, and then ALL OF A SUDDEN one entry was proceeded with FIVE more... and ALL of them were AWESOME. Oy Vey, what a decision!! lol I wish to goodness I had more prizes so I could at LEAST do a runner up :)

However, I can't since I don't... Again, I loved all of these entries, so please know how hard a choice this was for me. My Project 365 is black & white inspired, though I highly doubt I will be perfectly consistent doing them ALL black and white, or a black and white variant, I still plan to do it as much as possible. I am doing new photos ALL the time, but I have images from the past several months that I have not had time to do anything with as they were personal projects and things I just *wanted* to photograph. So I have been going through my "archives" and between cleaning disk space, and deciding what I want to hold on to and what really has no relevence anymore I have found several things to both discard and keep. Here are some of my favorites :) ...

my project 365 isn't just current images... I have learned so much in the past 9 months about editing, that I have images from projects over last summer that I still want to work on and edit and improve .... this image was a project all for myself and to take pictures of some sweet, lovely girls (2 best, best friends - Rachael Lafever & Jessica Howard).... Jess posed with B for this shot :) B loves dancing even more so now these days that she is walking and running all over the place, so this is a prelude to my little {B}allerine... Jessica will be her teacher one day very soon, as Jessica is a seasoned dancer and instructor in her off time from college. B will go to Stage One where she goes one day in the near future :) ♥

Wow, time is flying .... the seasons are changing ever so fast! And so is my little B! It is crazy to say the least. I will have to post a pic from last year this time and this year at about the same time of her soon! :) For now here are some others! :)

Also, I am offering gift cards, in any amount... you will be emailed your gift card with a receipt of purchase amount, and they are good toward session fees, print packages and digital packaging. You will be able to print and gift the card yourself. I will be honest, I have not quiet made it to printing them myself JUST YET :) But I am working on getting there. Here is my entry for I HEART FACES this week :) I had the great pleasure of doing 18 year old Chelsea's senior photos last month, and she is a sweet, smart girl. To look at her you first seeing a beauty with red hair, but when get to know he you see all that makes her beautiful. She is a fun girl who loves reading, and she loves comics and just is not your typical teen. I cannot divuldge any details, but I know that this young lady has had a rough time during her senior year. I felt a little challenged on this day, b/cI wanted her to have great pics and was not quiet sure how up to par she ws feeling with relazing and just going with the flow... but we managed to capture her perfectly I think. I was honestly in AWE when I saw this photo I did of her in an 8x10; not b/c I took the photo, but more b/c I could not quiet believe *I* took such a photo that seemed to capture her sweet essence, and at the same time showed her in a more grown-up light as well. :) I hope everyone enjoys this. :) Thanks for looking!

I took B to a Trunk Show yesterday... I so wish I had a studio or a place to host a show, and do mini sessions... how awesome would that be!? Anyway, here are pics I snapped of B in the outfit I chose for her (with the store owner of Tiara's and Tadpoles, Julie LaForte). They were hosting a show where they are in search for their next cover girl for the fall.... B may be a little younger than what they are looking for. But I had to try! :)

Here is the lovely Chelsea :) I shared a pic of her that I did for a challenge on i (heart) faces in a previous post... I just wanted to share her actual session some though :) We had so much fun! This girl is beautiful, sweet and she loves BUFFY lol Thus the t-short "And then Buffy Staked Edward. The End." lol My husband had them made for our comic shop... and you can get yours, too! :D $20 total each! Choose your size. :D (there a little plug for the hubs and our shop lol)

I am very blessed to have this beautiful area in my downtown to walk around and view. They really maintain the grounds with beautiful grass and flowers. The courtyard at the courthouse is packed full of a huge rose garden in the center; beneath a statue I have yet to find out the meaning of. Silly me, I know. Anyway, I have to take B out on a late afternoon stroll every afternoon possible, and these roses have really become a source of inspiration for me. So here are just some of my more artistic creations. :)

As I continue growing and learning, I realize more and more who I am not only as a person - a mom, wife and friend, but also a photographer....

I have many plans for my blog, and hopefully no later than late October a pretty flash website. I will up-date with some new pictures by tonight... I had a fun and wonderful session with a high school senior - Chelsea, the other weekend. And I will even include some new things of the B. :) Feel free to check out our Project 120, as well!

These days of our lives are so precious, so amazing and spectacular. Especially as a parent watching the life you created grow and transform right before your eyes. My favorite subject... my muse - The B, as I like to call her ;) .... is so smart, funny and curious. She exhausts me to no end, but at the end of the day, after all the highs and lows of the day settle, I am left with one feeling to get me through the next day and do it all over again. LOVE. Her love. My husband's love. My family's love. And most of all the ONE who gave me all this love in my life in the first place. My God. :)

These photos were a random day out with The B.... I took her for a stroll in the late, late afternoon on a overcast but warm day, and decided to let my Rebel tag-along.... all of a sudden I saw the chance to let her discover grass and a new flower - she LOVES flowers. So here are the shots from that.... and also she is teething, so getting her in a good moment - and being outside provides that for her, is an incredible thing. :) And then here are a few other photos... :)

Baby girl is growing so fast... the quality of the series of pics I did this is and was not the best, or most proper. I will be the first to admit that, but I had to share that grin and those eyes with the world. I am still growing, and learning.... and one day everything will just "click", but for now I will keep on keeping on. Because this little one, and my husband and family inspire me to do so. :)

For Bella's 6 month pictures, I have been inspired by a photographer out of Atlanta, GA.(Sugar Snap Photography)!! I am so excited to do them on Monday!! I hope everyone is doing well, and that spring is finding its way into your heart and homes.... brightening up your days more and more. This has been an especially harsh winter. But I can hardly wait for sunshine, warmth, flip-flops and strolls in the park!! And to be ablke to get OUT and take pictures in God's beautiful, natural light! =D

These photos are Bella's 5 month/Valentines pictures. :-) I cannot believe how much she has grown. I am excited at seeing her grow and blossom into such a beautiful little girl. I do miss the Little baby" days, but I am exuberant about the days, weeks, months and years to come as she grows into the angel I know was sent to me from above. She shows me every day that I can deal with this cruel, crazy world; proves to me that I am worth everything everyone has ever told me I am; and is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine after all I have been through in this life. Things are not always easy, but she sure does make the sunshine seem brighter, and the skies seem even more blue everyday that I get to see her sweet face. :)

Winter hit us with a icey cold blast this past week here in the middle TN. area. We were out Sunday aftenroon, and I just HAD to get some shots before the ice on the bare tree limbs was gone. I was in LR2 editing this photo, wanted it in B&W for sure, and all of a sudden when messing with the saturation, I came up with this ... my very own piece of art. :) I love this... how the light and dark are trying to overcome the gray; one trying to encompass that other. I call it "Where Light and Dark Meet."

What is a mini session? It is a 30 minute session located in your place of choice here in the city limits of McMinnville.

Hello friends, family and visitors :) I have posted session fees and pricing below in the side bar. Here is the run down in this post, as well.

INITIAL SERVICE FEE: $100.00 for 1 to 2 hours of shooting time; INCLUDING a $50.00 PRINT CREDIT. Digital File CD Price is $75 for 25 completed, artistically edited prints, and this can be used toward your print credit - in which the customer pays the difference of $25.00. Additional Prints can be purchased - 4x6 = $3, 5x7 = $5, 8x10 = $8, Wallets = $3/sheet. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask! =) I am an open and honest person, and here for you, the customer!

Further Info ... The $100 fee is good for on location shooting in McMinnville or Sparta. Anywhere further away will be an extra $20 for up to 35 miles. Anything beyond this will require consultation and calculation for the price.
